It all started when…
Established in 2016, as an impromptu get together to show patriotism. The inaugural 4th of July run, gathered early at the Battle Green in Lexington, Massachusetts. From there 19 Jeeps convoyed thru Boston suburbs flying American flags all the way to the Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown, Massachusetts. We made leaps and bounds in 2017, with 79 Jeeps participating and over 100 people in attendance. We were able to raise awareness and donate $2,500.00 for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. 2018 Run benefited TEAM RUBICON, this was our biggest turnout! 207 Jeeps/Modified 4X4s participated and $7,500.00 was raised to help TEAM RUBICON with their efforts. We are excited to see what new heights can be reached with 2019!!
The 2019 Mass Independence Day Run will benefit Homes For Out Troops, a national organization base out of Taunton, MA. Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) is a privately funded nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post – 9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives. Most of these Veterans have sustained injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives. Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents out of every dollar has gone directly to our program services for Veterans. HFOT builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live, and continues its relationship with the Veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives.
